Thursday(Work Day 3)

Wow today was painfully slow.  I taught a few lessons today.  I am pretty bad at the floor lessons (little kids) still.  I do pretty well with the table lessons (older kids).  This might pose a problem, considering that most of my lessons are floor lessons.  With more practice, I know I’ll do better.  It still takes me about an hour to plan each lesson.  The teacher I’m replacing can do about three in an hour.  I’ve got a long way to go there.  The more comfortable I get with each type of lesson, the faster that will go too.  I won’t have to think so hard eventually.  Next week is really going to be crappy, though.  I’ll be running the show all by my lonesome.  I wonder how much I’ll mess up.

For lunch today, I went with some of  the other teachers to a bagel place and got a chicken sandwich on a whole wheat bagel.  It was ok.  Not  very much chicken.  I had a coffee at lunch too.  Every time I order coffee, I think of my bro because every place here has strong, dark, and delicious coffee.  Just like the bro likes.  My co-teachers also showed me the international grocery store after lunch.  I picked up a Snickers for a snack.   There are a lot of good foods there.  They’re not very cheap, but I will probably buy a few key items, like a big bottle of olive oil.  I also found out that It’s not as expensive as I thought to ship things to me.  Especially not with fixed rate boxes.  I might have to get the fambam to send peanut butter periodically.  For dinner I made pan-seared scallops and some pork with some boring soy/pepper/salt/green peppers/garlic/bean sprouts.  It was ok.  I need to do better.  The pork here tastes funny too.  Dirty.

I didn’t get out at all again today.  It’s get up, work, dinner, blog, sleep with random trips to the grocery store to pick up necessary items.  The biggest triumph for today is that I finally remembered to pick up dish-washing gloves to keep my hands from drying out and cotton swabs to clean out my ears.  It had been a while so I made a candle.  This blog will post with another as I’m writing it without internet connection.
